Tradfest began in 2014 as an initiative of the then Irish Ambassador to Belgium, Eamonn Mac Aodha, and ran for three years under his leadership. After a short break, we're proud to say that Tradfest will be back again in 2019, showcasing the best in traditional Irish music from both Belgium and Ireland. And with a new name to reflect its unique surroundings - Tradfest Belgica.
Thursday night will kick things off with the opening of the festival and our
Afterwork Céili hosted by Brussels' long-running Irish set-dancing group. Trad sessions will be held on Thursday and Friday nights and the festival will close with a concert from the fantastic Four Winds trad band in the illustrious surrounds of the Leuven Irish College.
Join us for a weekend of music and dance in the heart of Belgium - this year's Tradfest Belgica is sure to entertain!
Tradfest Belgica is kindly supported by the Embassy of Ireland, Belgium, Culture Ireland and Brasserie St-Feuillien.
